Guarana herb is a plant that is found in the Amazon. The plant, or more specifically the plant’s berries, and widely regarded as an exceptional source of natural caffeine. As such, products containing even trace amounts of the Guarana berry extract have been marketed the world over in a wide variety of energy drinks and dietary aids.

The extract from the Guarana berry is what we apparently covet. This extract, even prior to any chemical processing or supplementation, is quite rich with caffeine content. GUARANA (so called from the Guaranis, an aboriginal American tribe), the plant Paullinia Cupana (or P. sorbilis) of the natural order Sapindaceae, indigenous to the north and west of Brazil. It has a smooth erect stem; large pinnate alternate leaves, composed of 5 oblong oval leaflets; narrow panicles of short stalked flowers; and ovoid or pyriform fruit about as large as a grape, and containing usually one seed only, which is shaped like a mini horse chestnut.

In October and November, at which time they become ripe, the seeds are removed from their capsules and sun-dried, so as to admit of the ready removal by hand of the white aril; they are next ground in a stone mortar or deep dish of hard sandstone; the powder, moistened by the addition of a small quantity of water, or by exposure to the dews, is then made into a paste with a certain proportion of whole or broken seeds, and worked up sometimes into balls, but usually into rolls not unlike German sausages, 5 to 8 in. in length, and 12oz to 16oz in weight. After drying by artificial or solar heat, the guarana is packed between broad leaves in sacks or baskets.

Thus prepared, it is of extreme hardness, and has a brown hue, a bitter astringent taste, and an odor faintly resembling that of roasted coffee. Rasped or grated into sugar and water, guarana forms a beverage largely consumed in S. America. Its manufacture, originally confined to the Mauhes Indians, has spread into various parts of Brazil.

The properties of guarana as a nervous stimulant and restorative are due to the presence of what was originally described as a new principle and termed guaranine, but is now known to be identical with caffeine or theine.

Guarana is most often seen as an ingredient in many beverages for the caffeine kick, and it’s also used as a fat burning or weight loss supplement. It’s long been very popular in sodas in South America, and has recently found its way into the North American beverage market, usually in ‘energy drinks’. New Canadian caffeinated beers also contain guarana.

Guarana is available in capsule or tablet forms at your local or internet health food store. Look for name brands to ensure quality and purity of the product you purchase.

Calendars function as part of an overall timekeeping system where time of day and date together mark a specific moment in time. In today’s modern world, the written calendar is no longer essential as part of these systems, as the invention of highly accurate clocks have made it possible to record time independent of astronomical events.

The normal purpose of calendars is for the identification of days so we can be informed about future events and to keep a record of when that event took place. The significance of days may be tied to civil, social or religious reasons. Calendars provide ways of determining which days are to be religious or civil holidays, which days mark the start and end of accounting periods for busineses, and which of the days will have significance of a legal nature, such as what day taxes are due or when a contract will expire. Calendars also give us other information such as when each season starts and ends.

The international standard for calendars is the Gregorian Calendar, which is in use today almost everywhere around the world.

People use calendars in order to manage their activities and time and their personal schedules, especially when they have multiple school, family and work commitments. Some people may use multiple systems, and may make use of a family calendar and a business calendar in order to prevent them from overcommitting their precious time.

Calendars are often a physical device such as cardboard and paper. These can be wall calendars or desktop calendars. Paper calendars have one or two sheets that can show single days, weeks, months, or an entire year. Sheets for a single days easily show both the date and the weekday. Sheets for multiple days show tables in order to make the conversion from weekday to date and back. By crossing out days past, it can show you the current date and weekday.

Wall calendars are calendars designed to be hung on a wall. Wall calendars normally consist of a group of 12 images (one for each month) on a particular subject. These can include car calendars, dog calendars, movie calendars etc. The size of wall calendars differ; 12 inches by 12 inches with the calendar closed being the regular size in the USA and Canada.

A sewing machine is a textile machine used to stitch fabric or other material together with thread. Sewing machines were invented during the first Industrial Revolution to decrease the amount of manual sewing work performed in clothing companies. Though some older machines use a chain stitch, the basic stitch of a modern sewing machine consists of two threads and is known as lockstitch. Insanity, it is a general, popular and legal term defining behaviour influenced by mental instability. In modern usage, it is most commonly encountered as an informal, unscientific term, or in the narrow legal context of the insanity defense .

Albert Einstein once said that the definition of insanity is: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I like to look at it as banging your head against a wall and expecting to make money for it. Doesn’t usually work too well. There is apparently quite the debate amongst bloggers as to whether this was originally said by Benjamin Franklin, or Einstein, or someone else. Either way, its true.

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is just not very smart any way you slice it.The same thing applies to any business. The businesses that break the mold and do something new succeed. Those that continue with the status quo eventually are shown the Chapter 11 door. Horse carriage makers used to think that the whole automobile fad was just a phase that would pass.

In a more modern example, huge, established airline companies are struggling while new, smaller companies are succeeding by focusing on low fares and customer satisfaction.I know that is true, because when I first started in MLM, I tried a different Company, then another, then another. It wasn’t quite as successful as I had hoped, to put it lightly.

The original businesses of network marketing began almost 100 years ago, with vitamin sales in the US. Since then, its has grown into an enormous and comprehensive industry with companies on all continents. (Yes, all continents. Somewhere, some scientist in Antarctica is pitching Xango or something like that to one of his coworkers. The San Francisco Giants are a Major League Baseball team based in San Francisco, California, that currently play in the National League West Division. One of the oldest of the MLB teams, the Giants hold the distinction of having won the most games of any team in the history of organized sports. The Giants also have the most members in the Baseball Hall of Fame. The Giants played in New York through the 1957 season, after which they moved west to California to become the San Francisco Giants.

In 2000, after 40 years at Candlestick Park, the Giants bid a bittersweet farewell to their old home and relocated to a new, privately financed downtown stadium, a long-advocated move. AT&T Park (originally Pacific Bell Park and later SBC Park) sits on the shores of China Basin (often referred to as McCovey Cove by Giants fans) at the corner of 3rd and King Streets (with an official address of 24 Willie Mays Plaza to honor the long-time Giant). Regardless of anything that might happen on the field of play, this move represented an entirely new era for the Giants and their fans. Whereas the team used to occupy what was widely regarded as the least baseball-friendly stadium in all of Major League Baseball, a throwback to the era of suburban, multi-purpose, concrete “cookie-cutter” stadiums that so many teams moved to during the 1960s and 70s, their new home is regarded as one of the better venues in all of professional sports.

San Francisco Giants tickets are routinely hard to come by. The Giants routinely sell out this nearly 43,000-seat stadium, whereas it was not uncommon for them to have a paid attendance of less than 10,000 in Candlestick’s nearly 60,000 seating capacity, although by the 1999 season the Giants managed about 25,000 fans a game. The franchise since the move annually vies for highest MLB season attendance, in contrast to being often threatened with having the league-low figure before. While still breezy in the summer time in comparison to other MLB parks, AT&T Park has been a consensus success and has developed the reputation as a “pitcher’s park.” Its state-of-the-art design minimizes wind-chill, it is well served by mass transit, and it has spectacular views of the bay and the city skyline (which even Candlestick had until it was redesigned in the early 1970s to accommodate the 49ers). AT&T Park is the centerpiece of a renaissance in San Francisco’s South Beach and Mission Bay neighborhoods. But most important to Giants fans, the new ballpark means they no longer have to worry about their team moving away from San Francisco, at least not any time soon.
